Makea Coffee

Makea Coffee

New week!

"A change... a change in the whole coffee culture is essential for the future, for the environment and for those working in the countries of origin of coffee. Like many other things that are common to us, the purchase and consumption of coffee needs to change." This is just a few words from our weekly coffee from the east.

Makea Coffee is a roastery and a team of brew specialists based in Finland. They stand for sustainably and transparently produced coffee. At Makea they believe in a completely transparent supply chain so they know what compensation a farmer will receive for the raw coffee they buy. The roastery believe that direct contact with crops ensures the best durability and transparency for the entire operation and its continuity. Meeting the challenges posed by climate change to coffee cultivation is only possible if there is economic stability in the countries of origin to invest in cultivation and research. Makes always pay the farmer a higher price than the Fair Trade rate for their high quality, fresh coffee. Through the partners, they participate in projects in the countries of origin that improve the well-being of locals and raise awareness around coffee growing.
